Re: Backstage
Obviously very difficult lighting but these work well for me.

Re: Backstage
These are two excellent images captured in a low-light environment, but definitely well-executed.
Technical issues are sometimes important, but what stands out here are the images, or rather, the portraits of two people preparing for a performance on stage.
Aren' they a bit too magentish ?
Well done !
Cheers !

Re: Backstage
David - these are both strong images that you should be quite happy with. I find that this type of shot is challenging because the makeup artist's hands are usually blocking part of the subject's face. You've managed to handle that quite well.
I find that the first image is the stronger of the two, because it is a bit more unusual. It seems to me that the right hand is just a touch sharper than the face. The left hand is a bit bright and I wonder if burning it down just a little might not be worth considering?

Re: Backstage
I do like the first image and, thankfully in this instance, you have not attempted to reduce the effect of a high iso level.
Cheers Ole

Re: Backstage
I love both of these. An unusual perspective and subject matter, and although you state the background to these (stage performance), they could well be make up prep for a portrait shoot which connects to our interests here.
Love them !
