Sailing
Just a quick capture of boats on the water, with light breaking through the fog.

Re: Sailing
I really love the moodiness of this scene, especially the boats that blend with the mist.
I'm not convinced that you need to include the shoreline and the wood pilings in the water and that large tree ranch(?). This shot would work well in a panoramic format.

Re: Sailing
Manfred it worries me that I agree with you so often... Not exactly the crop or brightness I would have gone for but very close.

Re: Sailing
Hi Sharon,
That is a lovely scene, well done for capturing.
I can see why you wanted to include a bit of foreground to increase the 'depth' of the scene, however, I am inclined to agree with Manfred's crop.
I think if I had been there, I might have also* tried a shot from lower down, this to be able to include a little more of the foreground shingle than the higher viewpoint allows.
* that said, it might not have worked.
I just have a desire to always shoot any scene at some height other than that at which 99.9% people shoot, by raising the camera above my head, or lowering to my feet - you get the idea. Of course, I usually do capture one of the 'standard' shot too.
Cheers, Dave

Re: Sailing
Thank you for the comments Manfred, Paul & Dave. Well received and appreciated. I do agree in regards to the crop, I went back and forth on it. Thanks for providing a better edit.
In terms of shooting lower down, that's a really valid point. It's more of a struggle to compose versus just grabbing a shot when an enthusiastic labrador retriever is along and she wants to join the boats in the water ;-).
Given I have a new "real" camera again I will put it to good use I hope.

Re: Sailing
There are several options for this image. For instance, lose the right side boat and the shoreline which should result in retaining the current size ratio

Re: Sailing
I do like it, minus the shoreline though. The brightness of the scene works well for me.
Cheers Ole
