I think it is the old "whatever works for you" is the best approach here.

I'm part of that group that wants the extra control, as the time cost is so minor. As I don't generally use Lightroom, but have always used Adobe Camera Raw or DxO PhotoLab (and its predecessors) as my raw converter, Lightroom is not an obvious choice for me to use.

Given that I rarely print more than a single image at a time, the extras seconds (generally less than a minute) to print from Photoshop, and the control it gives me are worth it, given the extra control I have over how an image is sharpened.
