Looks like a very pleasant place, although with all of the plants, the scene is quite busy.

There is a pipe(?) near the bottom left that really draws my attention. It might be worth removing that in post.

I think Roy asks a legitimate question and I suspect you might have been limited by the lens you were using, as the tall tree makes for a strong visual element that adds balance to this image.

Partly right Manfred. To have this view I was squeezed between two large rocks, so I could not move left or right. This was taken at 35mm with a zoom that could have gone wider, but if I had zoomed out the lhs would have been the rock, not the side of the tea house and the tree would not have been so well placed. As for the pipe, yes perhaps it should go...

IMHO, this is a very appealing image. I am not at all troubled by the crop of the building. It doesn't create (for me) a feeling of something missing, and the image is very nicely balanced on the horizontal axis. However, I would definitely get rid of the pipe. It draws the eye (mine anyway) and detracts from the composition.

I'm not really bothered by the items which have already been mentioned; but the foreground contains a small red leaved tree, perhaps an Acer type of thing. Part of it is out of focus and that spoils the whole scene for me.

Very impressive (and a little frightening) that it can do that, but I like your original better. It has much better balance, IMHO. Depends in part on what you are aiming for, of course. I'm responding to the entire scene, but if your goal is to display the tea house, that's another matter.

I agree, the PS+AI image was a response the comments about cropping the left of the tea house. I also much prefer the original.

Topaz Sharpen AI, but using a Photoshop layer mask to apply the sharpening to the out of focus areas only. The rest of the image was already quite sharp and Sharpen AI made some of those areas rather "crunchy", and that did not look good.
