    Interpreters - Roman Baths

We spend the day at Bath and got back quite late, so I did not have time to do look at the images in detail.

This one, of two interpreters, at the Roman baths jumped out as needing very little work. They were dressed in the mid-Roman period costumes. The woman was a jeweller and the man handled transport.

The Roman town, Aquae Sulis once stood in the downtown area of Bath, in Somerset, England. The baths themselves were part of a temple complex dedicated to the goddess Sulis Minerva (Sulis was the local goddess of the hot spring and was very similar to the Roman goddess Minerva, hence the blended name).

    Very nice.

I think I would clone out the hatch cover in the upper left corner. It's presumably relatively modern.

I did a version that way, but found that I liked it better with the "opening" and the balance it provides.

A lot of the "renovations" at the baths were done in Victorian times, so there is a historical overlay of what the English at the time believed about the Romans. This apparently was driven by a view of a degree of equivalence between the Roman Empire and the British Empire.

This is very interesting, to hatch or not to hatch. I like the image all around.

The hatch, or whatever it is, does provide balance to the picture in my view. Anyway, I do like the picture.
