Thread: Great Expectations

    Great Expectations

I was just going to post the one variant but I thought it may be interesting to consider how a concept can metamorphosise (is that a word?) into many variations on a single theme. Credit goes to my 9 year old sone for being a very patient and accomplished actor

Brillliant - I love it. But can you assure us that no 9 year olds were hurt in the making of this artwork???

I like the way you have developed a theme from the original photo. The original is perfect in the format you've chosen. I can see it as a poster on a bedroom door. Of the reworked images, I like the second last because of the colours. It sceams adolescent angst at me. And I love the disembodied head.

    Well done Steve!

Textures at their best. Those are amazing. Talk about learning through osmosis

The last one would make a great album cover!

    Awesome!

I'm with Tommy, preferring the last one - and yes, album/CD cover was what I thought too.

Good work as usual Steve, well done.

Not at all Raylee, after all what is the minor inconvenience of a cauliflower ear in the name of photography.

Thanks for your comments everyone, much appreciated. I think I prefer the last one too.

I REALLY enjoy your art. I've always believed that the best artwork encourages personal interpretation(s) which is something I like about your images. I think you take it beyond photography and that makes me both appreciative and envious of your creative mind.

I could see this as a poster design with many more variations.

Many thanks for your kind comments. Comments like these make it all worth while (although undoubtably undeserved)
