I did not intend to critique the finesse of your edit. What I disagree with is the need to either remove or tone down the yellow leaves.

Here is my take starting with Dan's version. I burned the grass, increased the redness of the two small tufts in the lower right corner and slightly desaturated the floating leaf on the left of the red tufts.

André much of this is personal taste. I still find the leaves at the edge of the image draw too much attention, so rather than healing the out, another approach (which in my view is not quite as effective) is to burn then down and desaturate them a bit.

Regardless of which version we look at, from the original through all the variations, it is a beautiful picture.

I ran these various versions past the members of our local photo club as an exercise. Each step was reviewed and considered against the previous one and each step was generally felt to be an improvement. However, at the end we compared the original image and the final edits and almost everyone preferred the original - most members thought that the edited versions have somehow lost the ethereal feel of the original shot.

As you say Dan... my favourite is a version I have not yet posted, it's the original with just the sky burned down a bit more - not much.

Very nicely done. It's got a soft, painting quality to it. I find the branches top left a bit distracting but they are part of the shot so.....
