A change of theme to Portraits, some are new and some are re-works but possibly new to here
The first is in the latter category - it's about 6 years old, taken and processed when I was mainly interested in birds in flight, and had never heard of Rembrandt lighting.

Definitely Rembrandt lighting. The question I have is where that lighting style is appropriate for this subject.
I generally find that Rembrandt is not the best choice for a soft, feminine subject, as the lighting is quite dramatic, but the subject is not. I personally prefer butterfly (a.k.a. beauty or Paramount lighting) or loop lighting for this type of subject. Men or athletes of either sex tend to be something I would use Rembrandt lighting on.
The lighting style needs to suit the subject.
