A plainer background would have helped
Roy
Thanks Roy. Yes indeed, but I chose minimal editing, at least for now ...
Maybe slightly tone down the top right corner? Otherwise this looks good to me.
Geoff and roy, thanks for your comments.
It's in my pending basket ... I'm aware of the blue bar siituation but intend reviewing the whole image, including converting to mono. But not tonight ... I'm reluctant to lose the hair colour so perhaps "no" on the B&W.

[QUOTE=billtils;780601]Here's the edit as promised. I had a look at a plain black background but preferred the framing from the doorway; Also I worked on a mono conversion for quite a while but wasn't very happy with the outcomes - not very often that I prefer colour to B&W!.
C&C welcome as always.
Your edits look good to me. If possible, you might want to consider a little more room on the right side of the frame. If this were mine, I would definitely burn down the visible belly area.

Thanks for the comments André: The easisest way to kill the blue edge would be to selecte the background and reduce the luminosity - I've done that in several shots recently and decided not to this time. The belly area is a bit different - I left it as it sort of added to the "attitude" theme but I do agree with you ...
I appreciate the confidence that the model conveys in this photograph with undeniable personal style. However, I feel that some elements of the composition could be adjusted to enhance the model's natural beauty and posture.
The lighting seems a bit intense to me, as it creates shadows that, while they can add a somewhat dramatic touch on one hand, end up taking away a little from the softness of the face on the other. A more diffused light could enhance the facial expressiveness without compromising the model's expressive strength. This would avoid the shadow of the nose, for example.
The background, in turn, seems a bit cluttered to me, with the model's shadow, which distracts attention to non-essential areas. A simple background would allow the person to stand out more, although it would have been completely different.
Finally, the position of the right hand seems a bit strange, not following the fluidity of the rest of the body. An adjustment in the pose, perhaps with the hand in a more relaxed position, could create a feeling of greater naturalness. And the exposed belly...
I believe that, with some adjustments to the lighting, background, and pose, this image can capture the essence of the model even better, valuing her beauty and unique style.
Overall, an interesting work and to be valued.![]()
Thanks Antonio.
While I agree with most of what you say, there was litttle I could do about it. This was taken at the end of an indoor shoot with 3 different. models and I only met this one when we were essentially clearing up ready to leave, so it was a quick pose - shoot - go.
