A gaze, a story
When I captured this moment, I was fortunate to record a unique and spontaneous instant. In a flash, I composed the portrait of a young man with a pensive expression which, without deliberate intent, ended up revealing a silent story.
The sky was overcast, providing magnificent even lighting, that gently highlighted every detail of his face. It was a sudden yet meaningful shot, where the delicacy of the light and the atmosphere of the setting merged to create a portrait that moves me and invites reflection on the depth of life.

Re: A gaze, a story
Very nice Antonio. I get the impression that he is moving to the right and has paused to look back over his shoulder for something. Your framing reinforces that. Excellent !

Re: A gaze, a story
Thank you, David, for the kind comment.
In fact, I no longer remember exactly where he was amidst a celebration in Chichicastenango in Guatemala. It’s possible he had simply stopped to observe something that caught his attention.
I was out there in search of portraits. Even so, I didn’t manage to capture as many as I would have liked... but it’s an activity that I truly enjoy.
The background is genuine - there’s no trickery involved - and it might be… even I am not entirely sure anymore!
As is often the case, I have some portraits that in no way merit the effort I might invest, as they are simply too weak for that.
