As the author of this photograph, I aimed to blur the subject in the foreground, using a shallow depth of field to draw attention to his concentrated expression.
The contrast between the sharp face and the soft background guides the viewer’s gaze. I deliberately included visual details such as the cap with visible text and the multicoloured fabric around the neck, enhancing the image’s chromatic contrast.
Capturing the moment he cleans his teeth with a piece of plastic from a bottle, I intended to reveal an intimate, candid gesture—balancing technical precision with emotional depth.
