Books for PSE post-processing novice

Hi, I am new to post processing and have just bought PSE (v8): any feedback on useful books to set me on my way? I have done a little searching:

1. Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Boxed Set
2. How to Cheat in Photoshop Elements 8
3. Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac: The Missing Manual

I am leaning towards How to Cheat in Photoshop Elements 8 right know but I am sure you guys may have better ideas?

I dont use Photoshop Elements but I have a book that I really like by Scott Kelby called The Photoshop Elements Book for Digital Photographers. This book is probably a good start for a novice. I'm sure some of the others will have good suggestions.

A cheap alternative, Barry, is to read the CinC Tutorials here and then, for some advanced reading, try this site http://www.ronbigelow.com/articles/articles.htm

Scott Kelby books are a good place to start. They are 'how to' books, mostly it is about the steps to achieve something; they are not long lists of all the features of a piece of software (as most other books are). You can work through a Kelby book or just dip in to the specific problem you want to solve.

Forget books and run with online video training. Cheaper, and you'll learn a LOT faster.

Thanks very much for all of your comments. Yes, Colin, I did think about video tutorials and believe that they would suit me better instead of trawling through a book although a book is handy to have as a reference on the shelf.

Kelby and Lynda seem to be the most popular video training resources: I take it from your post that Kelby is better? Also, I presume its better value to sign up for a month or so rather than buying DVDs?

I don't no a lot about Lynda, but Scott Kelby is a legend (I've never needed anything more).

Yes, I'd suggest signing up for a month initially; a lot of the online content isn't available on DVD - plus - once you've been through it a couple of times you won't need it anymore. If you like what you find you can sign up for a year and save a few $$$.
