Once a poll is added, we can't change the type from single vote to multiple vote without stripping the poll and re-doing it ... and that causes existing votes to be lost, unfortunately.

I really loved the "Post one, critique two" exercise and am sorry to see it peter out (no pun intended, Peter; I loved your shot and really wanted to comment on it, but then I would have had to post another of my own and might have ended up just having a conversation with myself ). The fact is, though, for a beginner, it is extremely useful to be forced to examine what it is that you like or don't like about an image. There are objective and subjective elements to criticism and the very fact of being on this site and reading what more experienced photogs have to say about submissions is very good for training the beginner's eye for the objective elements. (I can't believe how much better I "see" already!) But examining one's own subjective response really helps the beginner to understand his or her own vision. I think it is invaluable to practise criticism and I for one would really like to see this activity encouraged among beginners. Sorry I don't have any concrete suggestions as to how to do that other than perhaps encouraging newer, less experienced members not just to say, "I like that", but why they like it, what they see in it, even more than is done now. My two cents.

Love this site. You all are doing a great job.

I liked that thread as well and I was in the same boat as yourself...didn't want to be a thread hog, but sure enjoyed the dialogue...it's been a bit, so why don't we return to it and see if we can't get the ball rollign again...good idea, Janis.

I see you are as good as your word, Chris. You are a gem. If no one else jumps in, perhaps we can see what we can do to help each other Although, I must say, you seem to be progressing at a rate that leaves me a little breathless...

I tend to be an over-achiever and a bit OCD and maybe just a bit ADDHD...and on occasion have been known to turn right when I know it is a left...but other than that, I'm pretty much normal.

But, school starts again tomorrow and my time, while it has been fast and furious here for the last few weeks, is about to become rather tenious...oh well, it does buy all the goodies.

Well done, Dante. I think that's your first 'top-of-the-podium' appearance.
