    C&C

    Hello,

One really stupid doubt, among all those acronyms, abreviations, DoF, DSLR and many others that I don't know, could one confirm me the meaning of C&C. Is it Comment and Critic?

    Thank you =D

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

    Re: C&C

Yes, or something like "Comments and Criticism". Unless you're a gamer, that would mean "Command and Conquer". Just kidding. C&C I think, would mean - you want to solicit comments about your work. They may either compliment or criticize your work constructively. DOF - means Depth Of Field, while DSLR means - Digital Single Lens Reflex (pertaining to a camera). Hope this helps Jonathan.

I speak English as my first language and C&C was pretty easy to figure out but, the others... DOF, DSLR, SOOC (Straight of out camera - this one took me a loooong time to figure out) were acronyms that I had to look up. "Camera speak" is kind of like another language - easy to pick up, though, if you hang around and just ask - like you did.

I always loved the meaning of TWAIN (a computer printer interface), but I seem to have forgotten it...does anyone remember?

Chris, It does not have an acronym for it. Though the unofficial meaning of TWAIN in relation to computer interface would be ""Technology Without An Interesting Name."

    One for the Mods (moderators).

Katy makes a good point that she speaks English and understands a lot of the acronyms used here.

Maybe we should have a thread of commonly used acronyms for those members whose first language is not English.

    Hello,

    Thank you all!

Jiro, I knew what DoF and DSLR meant, but thanks anyway. My fault, I wrote that in a confused style.

Only now I'm start to vising a Brazilian forum, so I'm not used yet to Portuguese acronyms too at the moment.
