    Gone for a Burton

I was walking past here and was greeted by building works and diggers; it has all gone, forever, to be replaced by modern buildings probably like the block of flats recently built nearby.

So I shall never get the chance to improve on this:

    Gone for a Burton

    Gone for a Burton

    Gone for a Burton

I wondered why some people decided to move away recently

A very tranquil scene Steve - I would be happy there

    Hi Steve,

Well, you'll be able to look at Google Street View for a bit longer.

You did well to hide the house on the corner, or perhaps that had already been demolished?

    Cheers,

Cor blimey Dave; it is gone now but you can see the start of building further up. Google must live here and their view isn't flattering but I do wear glasses. I only see the good stuff, I think it has to do with living on a council estate, after a bit you become blind to rubbish.

    It has all gone now.

Cheers Kay, it was my favourite walk.

Cheers Kit, it is a bit of a surprise since the old part made the difference. Just a walk aroud the block and you was in a different world.

Now it is getting to be like a concrete jungle.

I hate myself for this...but what in the good Queen's name is a "Burton?" I am sure it is a walk, and perhaps a walk down memory lane or the like, but why is it called a Burton?

It is a beer Chris; sorry but before the war it mean't gone for a long time. Probably from a Bass Brewers advert who created the first trademark, but then I'm not good at history.

Ind Coope was horrible, I like pedigree but that is Marstons and as far as I know Bass doesn't exist and has been taken over by Coor's.

Ind Coope is just too hoppy for me, Bass was a favourite when it was available.
