    A few bits of Australia.

The images you see came out of an eight year old Nikon Coolpix 4500 with 4mp. I spent September and October 2010 travelling alone around the eastern side of Australia in Greyhound buses using a 13,000km bus ticket.

I have tweaked the images a bit, but not much.

I particularly like your last two Peter. This year when I went back to Aussie for a holiday I had to take my old camera ... Nikon D4800. With now using a DSLR, the only thing that I have problems with on my 'compact' is the time it seems to take 'getting ready' for the shot.

    Thank you.

I am very pleased with the performance of the old Coolpix 4500, and am amused at some of the posts on other forums that cry-out for extra mega-pixels.

I am certainly no expert but have learnt a lot from CiC forums and the help given by members to improve my skills. Even got a few 1st's in some of the Mini Competitions

Extra mega-pixels can enable one to do more eg cropping, larger prints etc. but I don't think it makes a 'better picture'. If it did we would all be award winning photographers We 'make the better picture' just as the skilled artist creates the better art. There are lots of discussion threads in our forums on this subject ... and a lot of emotion

    Excellent photos Peter.

Like you say, for most people, the present pixel arms race is totally pointless.
