Re: First Sunset using ACR PP in Photoshop
Hi Chris,
I think your work has been improving all the time with your transfer to digital but this image just does not have enough in it for me. I wonder in fact if there wasn't more colour in the sky when you took this. I normally shoot my sunsets with the white balance set to Cloudy. The auto white balance on digital cameras gets fooled by the large amount of warm colours in a sunrise or sunset and compensates by adding blue and hence taking all the warm colours out of the image.
I note a hint of warmth in there and you might try reprocessing in ACR and lifting the white balance to around 7000 (or to taste).

I'll check the WB. I can't remember if I was metering spot or matrix - have to look at that as well as it will help me to determine where to set the white point. Good observation.

Re: First Sunset using ACR PP in Photoshop
HI Chris,
I tried just warming up the colour temperature but that didn't really work as well as I had hoped. A quick and dirt adjsutment.
Slightly underexposed
Increase white balance
Increase black clippng point
Increased contrast
A little burning in of colour close the tree line.
Not sure I've improved it much.
