    Than you Colin.
Can you please be a little more specific ?
Do I go to Image / Image Size and resize the image ?
I guess it is not what you mean...
Anyway I could get that command integrated in the Action. Am I right ?
    Thank you.

    Hi Antonio,

IMAGE -> IMAGE SIZE - make sure "Resample Image" is ticked, and then just plug in the pixel dimensions that the image needs to be upsampled to (ie the kinds of pixel dimensions that you normally use before using your processing action) - then Photoshop will add the pixels as required and you'll have a bigger image to work with.

If you get lost, just let me know, and I'll do it for you (only a 10 sec job, if that).

Yes Alis I like your photo.
There is much light in it and the person pops out of the frame.
    Good.

Yes it does work. Thank very much for such a simple tip.
The tip is simple but we have to know it and I didn't

    Nice week end !

Again the skin tone is so real and nice, Antonio.

I feel the mouth area is somewhat blurred, probably can be fixed in PS?

    Thank you Alis.
You are right and I am going to try to fix it.
May be the reason is that I was using the 70-200 at 200 with f/3.5 and the DOF was really very shallow.
I would have to go and have a look at the table...
But this image is nice, also because the young man is handsome and young.

It's curious how this photo came out so well. Just look at the original.
The light was harsh and I asked the young man to face the shadow, I mean turn the back to the Sun.
I have chosen carefully the background moving the guy until I got the place and then bang, here I go.

I post also a group photo for you to see the kind of light I was dealing with. The young man has been shot at the end of the street near one of those blue doors on left side adn we were in the middle of the street.

Alis. I am not going to do what you suggested because the emphasis is on the eyes and not on the whole face.
And because the DOF is so shallow that his other eye is almost out of photos, as his face edge (the one which is further away).
    Thank you for the suggestion.
I looked at the picture cerefuly and the focus is very precise on the eyes is enough I think.
You did very well suggesting that. I thank you for doing so.
Meanwhile... here is another with shallow DOF shot under very different circumstances... inside with one flash and very little light from a door 5m away
No, I don't like the shadows on the walls...

Peter I think you image is very very nice.
You used light from bellow which gave the face a very good emphasis filling in the shadows.
    I do like it.

If I may suggest, you could apply a little vignetting. Small, just a tad.
Oh and brighten also a tad her eyes. Just a bit nothing strong and/or artificial...

    Hi,

I agree Peter's image is very nice but I think it is slightly spoiled by the too shallow depth of field as only one eye is in focus - her right eye is significantly out of focus... I guess it won't make any difference if printed small size but a blow up would really show the softness up I think.

    Best regards,

    Anton

Indeed Anton. I saw it when I looked at it the first time.
I consider this not to be a problem.

May be because the mouth of "my" young man previously posted is not in focus I am trying a good excuse for myself ...

I think it is because the young girl moved a bit after focusing or Peter focused her right eye with the central point and then moved the camera to the right.
Sometimes this small parallax error is enough when working with shallow DOF.

A great image any way Anton ! and here you do agree don't you ?

Sure I do agree the image is very good. I was just pointing out it would have been even better with a less shallow DOF...

    Best regards,

    Anton

    Hi Anton,

Thanks for your comments. Not sure why the left eye is not in focus as parts of her hat and hair that are nearer the camera are in focus. You may be right about the parallax, hadn'y thought of that.

It looks good to me, although as you said to me could do with the eyes being slightly brighter.

You know Peter, I am afraid sometimes to overdo the brighteness making the image a bit unreal. In this case the eye.
May be what I have to do is just a little bit, very tiny that's all.

    But you may be right.
I have to try and see what I can get.

    Thanks.

Let's not forget that this is important about DOF.

I saw the other day something more specific about the parallax but I can't find it now...
