Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
This is one of the photographs I shot in Monument Valley. Early morning, during sunrise, from my hotel room (they recently build a hotel in MV, called the View Hotel (guess why), run by the Indians that live in the area). UV filter.
For me, this was the most beautiful park I visited. The rock, the colors, it is unreal. I call it walking on the moon (although the colors are different there). Just rocks, almost no vegetation.

Glad you like the picture. I wasn't totally happy with the composition, but hey, I am walking around with the family and the only one doing photography, so no time for alternative shots ;-). Thanks for all the nice comments.
I was wrong then about the CPF
I do understand the way you take your pictures. It is very similar to the way I do.
The difference is that I am not with my family but with 12 more people :):)
Hard work. :)

I have seen many pictures before of this Monument Calley. Yours is another fantastic one. :)
I suppose how interesting it is to stay in a hotel like this :):)
I must convince my wife to go there before I get too old to travel :)

:D Construction site to the left, a complete disaster since I went to Lichfield after seeing the weather forcast was sunny all day, it wasn't and it rained, and then when I got there all the beauty spots have building works next to them, and the windows in the cathedral won't be replaced until 2014, and a party of children turned up so it was hard to take the photo's in the cathedral. :D :D
I'm trying to emphasise the spires eg chimneys, maybe I should have used a longer focal length and just got chimneys on their own. :)
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
Steve, I was meaning to get the same scene but with a small adjustment to the left :)
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
I see :D I am a slave to thirds now since I was reprogrammed and had to stick the spires on thirds, but it would look nice but for the fencing put up by the construction workers. I think it has potential for a panorama when those chaps are finished. :)

Well... ahnnn... not exactly a landscape but more Architectural Photography in my opinion...
I like the second image and I suppose you are at the inside of the barrier :)
About the first image ... strange treatment... :):)

Posted before here in this very thread. :) :) but I was not able to see any comments. So, here I go.
For me the stones and laces look like an altar and I hope to be right. :) For me this essencial element of the photography is too centered. I would like to see it off center at 1/3 of the frame to the right or to the left.
On the other hand I would like to see the hole altar and not cut at the bottom.
I would even look hard - difficult I know - to find a point of view which would allow me to get the altar with no background important elements. I mean, not cut by the horizon or by the line splitting land and water if you know what I mean.
Looking with attention at the picture and if you have the possibility to go there again, I think you could move to the left, stand up and get the altar with the background only with land BUT getting the mountains at the same time. They are essencial to get in the frame.
That depends on what kind of lens you are with. Wide angle would be great but you should be careful about too strong distortions...
Another way to do it could be to walk some distance and shoot with a 300mm/400mm transforming the altar in a shape against the blurred horizon.
There, I wouldn't mind to have the horizon cutting it...
Oh well. Make 12 images. Put yourself upside down, lay on the floor, climb a leader, do whatever you wish but make 12 VERY different shots. Elect ONE. Re-shoot refining that version.
Still reading ? Congrats. :)
Thank you for posting again. In fact I had forgotten to write about your image which ended up forgotten among the others.
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
Thanks Antonio, for the Input. I really appreciate it. & oooops!! I didn't know I had posted it here in this thread :( Sorry. :(
Well this place is 14,500 ft above sea level. But really looking forward to visit this place again. But can't see that happening before June 2011. :(
And yes, thats an Altar. I have a shot with the altar on the left side. Didn't like it much though. Will post it anyhow. Thanks again.
