Was there any kind of mist in the area when you shot ? It looks like in my monitor.
May be there was because it looks like a pretty warm site full of harsh light.:)
You could try to clone the post and duplicate the layer and change it's blending mode to Multiply or try another one to see what happens and see if the result pleases you.
Thank you for posting here George :)

Wrong Mark ! :) I see nothing wrong in your image. I like it. :)
Perhaps some one more skilled like myself can find something, but I really can't :)
You do have the trees in the foreground, the water has detail and so has the chimneys at the far end. It's nice and quiet.:) Or may be not as we see the pollution going out of the factory:rolleyes:
Thank you for posting :)

Perhaps in this situation the best would be to use Manual to keep consistency between shots...
The scene is very homogeneous in terms of light but if it wasn't I would have captured the setting at the brightest area and set them in Manual mode for the various shots.
Did I made myself clear enough or not ? I am afraid I have not. I will be glad to explain again in case. :)

This is good work Nicola.
However be more demanding on what you get into the frame. Just look at the left side ando to the right side. OK I do know it is not easy ...:)

Steve look at the background ! It is what make Nicola's image to be so good. :)
I am sure you have the possibility of doing something far - far - better than this. Excuse me Steve :)

I have little experience with layers, so I don't know what you mean by a "Multiply layer", but I'll consult the Google. I did try to clone some grass over the post, but it looked stupid and obvious :)

Thanks Antonio! :)
Sorry, but I haven't understood exactly what you mean... in this picture, do you refer to the columns at left and right?
bye

Thanks Antonio, you have made my day with your comments. You're right, it's not what it seems to be - quite. There is a busy airport, very busy motorway and 'A' roads, railway crossing the river (can be seen through the trees) there are marinas and a town all within 1/2 - 3 miles of this place. I was lucky, I caught it just right, not even a creature stirred.
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
Sorry about the last one Antonio; I took it whilst having another rest sitting on the front right most seat and I should have moved the statue. It was boiling hot under the windows. I wonder if that door leads to the little green room on my right, the one under the window???? :)
This was one of my very first photo's, redone with Photoshop. It is taken with a very cheap kit lens at 28mm f8 on a Canon 10D. It is HDR but doesn't really need it.

I am referring to whatever is at the right and at the left. It is distracting.
You may say that in the church you do always get something in between but try to minimize it the best you can. :)

Please Steve, don't be sorry. I am no master, no icon, nothing. I am here for fun that's all :) and if I have an audience I try to help and learn at the same time. :)
I do like your image. Only that sky... All right, English weather white skies, blown out skies I mean.
I do understand that difficulty. The Cathedral is very nice. There is an homogenousity in all the frame resulting from the coherent palette of colors and materials on location.
Too cold ? No people around ? :)
Thank you for posting Steve and for giving me the opportunity to write about my ideas :) and suggestions :)

'Re Misty Morning'.It reminds me of flying out of RAF Newton early in the Spring mornings Antonio. But that was a long time ago.
