Hey Nasim,

Thank you Sahil. I must admit I like it too. Keep those pictures coming.

My creek is near Mt Barney in southern Queensland Australia. It was taken late in afternoon on the 19th of Feb 011. I did four other shots during the next 12 hours before dawn the next morning. I am a great advocate of Slow and easy technique. Like the masters of the past not the blasters of today. Plan when, what, who, how the conditions are going to provide a 70 % certainly of the shot pre visualized. This is done in writing
Very interesting shot Nicola; it looks neglected. Of course, the Round Church in Cambridge is no longer a church.
There is a church on the beach in Cornwall. :)

What can a humble amateur photographer say to a teacher of the same subject that he doesn't know already ?
I am without words Chris :)
Thank you for posting here again. I was missing your images. Indeed I was so I thought the other day and I was surprised now to see that you are posting here, in this last and resistant bastion :)
BTW have you ever drove a BMW ? Better than Mini I assure you. :D
The cypress forests grew right up to the water's edge...many moons ago, they cut a railroad through this area and used the cypress to build trestles and other bridgeworks. I suspect what you are viewing was cut down around the turn of the century,
1880's give or take. Oh, and as per the BMW, I've driven them and they're fun but they are heavy and sluggish on tight courses. Anytway, my Mini is essentially a BMW though substantially lighter (2240 lbs and 196 lbs of wheel torque) - do the math and you'll see why I like my little pocket rocket.
i found this swing right on the side of the road in the middle of no where on caistor top, Lincolnshire, take shortly after dawn.and first time out since getting a 40d and trying to get to grips with it.
lonely swing

What an excellent image Boosty. :)
It is perfectly horizontal - or shall I say vertical ? :) - the crop is perfect and so is the use of elements in the foreground.
You also did use a modest canvas which contributes to enhance the image itself with a superb use of a filter.
The only thing I would change a bit - oh I always have to say something "not so good" haven't I ? :) - is the area around.
Let me try to explain myself: I think the crop is a bit tight. I would include more of the original photo all around the image. This would enhance the good composition you have.
I feel like the image is needing some more space mainly on top, right and left.
I think you would have to try and compare because I may be wrong  but I don't think so.
Re-reading my own post I also add:
The increase of the crop would place the verticals of the swing a bit more to the right what would benefit the hole image.
Perhaps you could also enhance/brighten the swing itself or perhaps not because the verticals are informative enough. I have my doubts here...
Do you feel like to try and show us ? :) Please. :)
Side by side, the "old" and the "new(s)".
Thank you for posting :)
Cheers :)
with hind sight i wish i'd taken a few more shots from the same position but from a wider view.but you can see from the original shot that i've only cropped the bottom.
but I'm still playing with this image as i'm not happy with the swing not standing out enough.
cheers for the comment :D

Lesson:
When in location and if we like the place/scenario, we have to shoot 4/5/6 times with different crops to get different options at home and choose the one we like best.
:)
i did but this is 1 of 2 shots from this view out of 8 or 9 shots.but as i was on a call out for work i couldn't hang around.:D
Sunset the other evening.
