    Vandenberg influence

on sunday the 1st may, I've had a one-day long walkabout from hills to seaside. on evening, turning back uphill, I focused my attention to the footpath (perhaps because I was so tired that my head was dangling towards the bottom )
and the better way I found to capture the footpath is something similar to the Vandemberg style... isn't it?
what do you (all) think about this picture?
    thanks for commenting

    Nice Nicola, nice

Try harder and when you get to it or very near and so near, that yours looks like one of Vandenberg's images then, move to your own style.

You haven't got one ? OK. Invent one. Create one. Be creative. Experiment, try. Make errors, correct and go. Restart all over.

This is a big challenge Nicola

    Have a good work

    thanks Antonio
you're right, I know that I've to find my way!
but it will be a long road, I'm still at the beginning... or I havent still trespassed the start line...
I think that keeping in mind other's style/images and trying to emulate their technic will improve my technical and artistic capabilities,
and could be that I will find my way starting from other's style
any artist have been a student of an other artist...
what do you think Antonio, i'm right?

My attempts really pale, compared to yours but...here are some of mine. It's funny, the poem says "morning" but these were taken in the evening, too. Also, we didn't really have any flowers, yet - still don't quite.

    sigh. I love bokeh!
I've seen your photos on your site, not bad
only the bokeh is a bit too green, so the flower fades in to the background
try to aim at contrasting colors, so the flower will stand out more
if you use ps, and make the bg a bit darker, use a layer add a color (darker or lighter colors will give a different effect) and set it to exclusion then and add a layer mask to the layer and brush around the flower with black

are you familiar with actions in cs?
made some for my self, but maybe i will share some of my secrets

my English is not so good, sorry for that

not bad, and i mean not bad at all
see some nice bokeh bubbles and you didn center it (dead center is deadly)
Antonio has already said most, look around how others do it, but try to be your self
do things you like best, even though other people dont see it your way
eventually you will begin to see improvements and people start to follow your style

and try to use some cs power

Your photo is nice but perhaps you could be a little more careful about the composition...
I can remember that you posted here 3 photos before editing and this was the last one. Am I wrong ?
I remember the first one was good. Can you post it again please ?
    Thank you
    Thank you

Sun Peeping Through the Trees in the Late Afternoon at Lake Crandall

I was trying to get the sun coming through the trees and reflecting off the water. Unfortunately I got some lens flair as well. The question is, does the lens flair add or detract? If it detracts, what should be done to either eliminate it or turn it into a positive?

    Any other C & C? Thanks!

@FRANKMI, flare has to go, the reflexion is a bit off, tree turns out green in the water
try not to over sharpen your pictures

Thank you for the feedback Vandedburg! I'll try to clone out the flair. I am starting to get a feel for how much to sharpen. I thought 4px was about right but now I'm thinking more like 1 px would be sufficient. I am also trying to sharpen only the parts that I think need the attention but in this shot it seemed to be the whole schmolie. The learning experience can be both frustrating and fun at times. LOL

Interesting; but I don't think it is a landscape. A very pleasant image but I'm a bit harsh as regards landscape photo's as I think they have to look like an identifiable place.

It is a winning image as most of yours are though.

    Hi Steve!
    I really like your picture!
i like the light and the nice atmosphere that produces
the only thing seems to me a bit distracting is the water jet in the foreground coming from the left (but the source is out of the frame)
I know... you can't control everything...

In the last two days I produced a lot of shots
I would like to share some of them with you, (max rate of 1 pic every 24/48 h ) in order to have your feedback
all kind of comments are welcome, but I prefer the critics!
the one below is a simple and common shot I suppose, but it is quite interesting for my eyes
what do you think about it? it's boring? ...?
many thanks to all who will post their comments

I think the lack of relative size makes this a difficult shot to judge. Just because I have shot a few scenes like this, I know the water in the foreground is little more than a foot high (1/3 meter) and that in itself makes it rather uninteresting to me. However, good color and exposure in your favor.

Hi Nicola. I like powerful water and never tire of them. Here I think I would have liked to give the rock a little more space but I can't think what else I could do.

Cheers for your comments, I wanted to include the big fish that was spaying across my view but a million people deprived me of it.
