Hello Edwin How are you ?
It is very clear that the second image is far better than the first one.
In the first one it is like you came to the site and took a picture from where you were standing. Simple. Click. Done. A picture.
On the second one you were careful enough to compose and move around to get the best angle and what it looks better to you. Excellent Excellent
Now, let's improve a bit more. Let's take - on the spot - not two pictures but 4 or 5 and select the best one with "the best composition" in mind.
Perhaps it could have been possible to get free of that blue area cutting the roof.
How you may ask me. And I answer you: I don't know. I am not there.
And even if I were would I do better ?
Perhaps. Who knows ? It is easier to critic than to do.
    Cheers Edwin
After previewing: with 40 degrees and corrugated iron the temperature inside should be un bearable unless some insulation is installed. The reverse in Winter.

Thank you for your comments Antonio....I have tried it with out the tree on the right and also tried it without the tree on the left but I think without the tree on right then the tree on the left becomes a distraction and without the tree on the left I feel it loses something.
    Thanks
    Keith

    Hello Keith
    Perhaps I have confused you.
Let me be more precise about the trees and the composition.
    What would I do ?
I would move myself to the right. Enough to have all the right tree placed on the right, inside the frame at 1/3 from the right of the frame. (I repeat myself but that doesn't matter as long as I make myself understand).
Then I would place the house somewhere on the left near the 1/3 of the left side of the frame.
I would also try to shoot higher to get more branches falling into the frame.
Perhaps the use of a rather shallow DOF would benefit the image keeping the tree out of focus. This is rather difficult to get because you have much light making the use of a great aperture more difficult to achieve. Have you a neutral density filter ?
    How about this Keith ?
    Have a nice week end
After previewing: I have not been of great help, have I ? Do you want me to repeat with different words ?

Thanks for your critique Antonio. I'll take a lot more images from different angles, as suggested by you, next time I'm up that way.
I'll post them here when I do, to get some feedback from you.
    Cheers....Edwin.

Slowly, carefully, watching the details... over and over.
Until ONE comes ! And that is the one, the very best, the model, the guide line, the icon.

    Naseem,

I like this shot. It's very blue for a sunrise but the colour works for me and it has an air of tranquility. The burn out in the sky is a little distracting but not overly and I think I might be tempted to crop a little of the bottom, say, just above the watermark. Nice shot with lots of early morning ambience though.

Waterfall in the Orlu vally, Ariege region South of France. Spent 3 weeks down there visiting and photographing stuff. This is more or less the first shot I've had a chance to look at from the trip and when I worked on it I thought it was really nice, looking at it again today it's just about making ok. Dunno, what do you think ??

As Radu wrote the water is rather over exposed. But if you are shooting raw most probably you will be able to correct that detail.
Thank you for posting here Paul
It is a nice image indeed

Thanks Paul for your constructive comments. I take your points. It is blue largely because the sun could not get through the clouds and also I PP in curves. I am glad you like it. I use a Canon 17-85 mm IS lens F4-5.6. Although I got most of my best shots with this lens as I have no other wide angle lens to use, I still would prefer a L series like 16-35 mm Canon. I know Donald uses this same lens I use but Id like others to comment on comparison of the two. Is there an obvious difference?? Thanks for your time.

    Thanks Antonio!
I found many ways in order to make you wasting your time!
    this is a nice view
but being too critic, it's a pity for all the trash abandoned over the ruin!
and perhaps the grass/trees over the ruin make it camouflaged with the background thus the perspective and depth of view suffers a bit...
I hope I'm not too harsh..
    I like the pic

PS it seems to me that you have travelled a lot... lucky you!
If I remember you are going to go/ have just been for the 4° time in India... ?

In fact I posted at first without mentioning where it was taken. I edit at once but you were answering already.
