You could try for example, to have the legs not cut by the mountains if I make myself understand. This for example could be a big improvement. Well, you wanted a critic here you have it !

The flower is OK. Nice natural bokeh. No need of special software for the job. Well done. :)

This shot was taken at Lamington National Park, Queensland. I used a 500D with a Tamron 17-50mm lens at f/10 ISO100 for 1 sec exposure. I added a little saturation to the greens to try to make the shot a little more vibrant.

It's a beautiful picture, Iain!:)
I like the colours and the atmophere!
perhaps a point of view a bit lower (close to the water) could be an improvement
but it's anyway a nice work
I like also the contrast between dark left side and the bright right side

but I was concentrated to reply to your nice challenge! :)
in this capture, I desired the canon EF 100 f/2.8 macro that i've ordered some weeks ago but I haven't still got it!:(
(there are many troubles for Japanese export, as you can imagine)
anyway the 17-40 at f/4 did a good job, but over all the USM AF in AI servo mode, since the worm was litterally blowing in the wind, his motion was similar to a pendulum... I think he has had a terrible headache!!:D

Have you ever been in Tuscany on Apuane?
to be precise, I was shootnig from "Pania di Corfino" that is a member of Appennini mountain chain, but you can see the Apuane Alps in the background.
I like the frame for this picture, thanks to suggest it :) ... I have still to find the way in Photoshop to create the frame... I' m a bit lazy...:o

you're right!
Siena is a beautyfull city, completely unchanged in the last 7 centuries, surrounded by a beautiful country, where you can find many medival castles and villages (Monteriggioni , San Gimignano...), many thermal water sources (Petriolo, Bagno Vignoni, exploited since Roman republic age), very good food since Siena is in a particular kind of countryside that produces very good wines (Chianti, Brunello, Vernaccia...) and many other products...
and finally, if you will be so gentle to let me "drive" you there, I can show you "something different" as a walk trough the old roman drinkable water pipeline some meters under the city level...
I hope you are not claustrophobic! :D:D

Thank you Nicola, but I have to be honest: it is not difficult to make a beautiful picture in this area of Sussex. A lot of it is breathtaking. The area is Beachy Head and the cliffs are called the Seven Sisters. It is quite a family ;)

Some years ago we traveled in Great Britain with a motor-caravan and we had the opportunity to visit this part of England. :)

Very nice landscape indeed :) What attracts me when I travel is to see new sites, locations and people so different to the ones we are used to see in everyday life.
