The different colour temperatures between the Budha's statue and the city make it more visible in visual terms.
However, the image makes me want to see more at the right of what - it is not I suppose - it looks like an island (where the Budha is).
On the other hand, perhaps because of the season you are in now, the mist is rather present at the far end which convey a certain peculiar ambiance to the shot.
Is this Kolkata ? Can't you shoot again a bit latter with more lights from the streets and houses ? Can't you show us if this is an island ? And it's way in...
Please darken the sky a bit enhancing more the statue.
Thank you ... Ashwin
Back at a real computer for the first time in a while
Antonio and Chris, thanks for the feedback, it's very helpful!
this is a view of the most important church of Pienza... this is not a marvellous photo, I know;at least not as good as Pienza Pecorino cheese! have you ever taste it?
C&C welcome!
I'm posting a lot of my old pictures in order to understand how I can shot them better next time!
thanks!
bye
Nicola
I 'll go back in Pienza next september, when there will be the "Palio": a strange competition.. see at the bottom of thath url http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pienza
Antonio - the yellow stripe indicates that a no-passing area on the driver's side of the road is either just about to begin, or just finishing. A solid yellow line indicates "no passing" at all, at all. The white stripes are the usual middle of the road indicators.
And if you didn't notice when here...I hope you weren't driving!!
Thats beautiful!!!
Did you try this shot with a li'l less sky, Omar?
Hi Nicola,
I like the composition of both these, a few ideas to improve might be;
#1 looks slightly off level; a little clockwise rotation would fix.
#2 looks a little flat and may respond to Local Contrast Enhancement, a WB adjustment and a more attractive foreground interest.
However, not everyone may agree those ideas would improve them, I am but one person.
Update: oh dear; upon re-reading my words the next morning, this does look rather negative, I do hope you realise that there is far more 'right' about these than the few things I have mentioned. You're 80% there and picking up a few technical skills is easier than what you've already achieved.
Hope that helps,

thanks for suggestions!
in fact the #2 is taken with tele(200mm by memory).. it doesn't help for flatness issue! I try with LCE and WB
don't worry for your words!
I realised what you mean! and I'm proud for them!!
however I'm looking for critics, as critics help me improve
thanks once again

I usually write a few lines about the photos everyone inserts in this thread I started, but sometimes I am either too busy or not in a place with easy access to the web.
At this moment I am too busy.
However, I am aware that you all have been very kind to keep posting images and I will do my best to answer as soon as possible.
Thank you for your comprehension
Thank you, Antonio, for lending so much of yourself to CiC. Your contributions are tremendous! I noticed, when I first came in September, that you said that you would have to leave for a little while. I noticed that others picked up the slack in these useful threads and, then, when you came back, they had lost very little momentum. Hopefully, it will, somewhat, happen again. Thanks for all of your work, here.
Hmmm, this probably should really be a PM but, here it rests!
