    Hello Siva
    Thank you for posting here
Your photo is nice and well composed. However, I would rather the tree to be placed a little more to the left or, saying another way, more field to the right of the picture. The idea of the Sun is great as it has a great impact on the image.
However, as you may know, sun light directly into the canera shortens sensor's life. Well, just a trifle observation because we need to change camera from time to time.
And something else and you are probably aware of this: should you have closed more the aperture you would have a better star in the Sun compared to the one you have. A small bonus
Perhaps the dark side of the photo could benefit from some kind of work as we could see some detail. What do you think ?

finally, I took that picture on january the 2nd, that mean in the middle of the winter with about 6°C...
Yes, I can see that you would be a bit limited by having land to the left.

And it is interesting that you have taken it in your winter, with colder temperatures, as I really do see this as being taken on a hot summer's day, with those heat waves rising from the water. That is because it is the middle of the summer here and very hot - so the image automatically suggests heat to my mind. Interesting, isn't it, how one's own context colours things so much.

And yes, I do like the second one - you have kept the whole of that nice reflection.

    Landscapes

    I had an idea.
Why doesn't everyone post here a picture of the place you lieve in ?
Well composed, well shot showing an icon from her/his place, a magnificent view of the mountain nearby or the sea, the river, whatever.
As to Kit she could photograph a picture of the place she is at the moment.
And you, yes you, I am talking to you who is not at home but working or travelling for leisure, show us an image of the place you in now.

Thank you all. How about that ?
Some people already do it I know.

    well
    let me say,
even if I'm able to take a nice shot,
at the moment it is impossible to have a nice shot as I'm in the office... and (at least in my eyes) it is all the opposite of something nice....

    Re: Landscapes

I have been digging through my archives to find some photos that I want to reprocess. This photo of West Mitten Butte in Monument Valley, Arizona, was taken a few years ago using my Sony F828 digicam. I use RAW almost exclusively now, this photo was a jpeg. I used DxO to apply lens corrections (remove distortion and CA, capture sharpen, etc.).

I like this landscape I am sorry if you have it only in jpg as it is difficult now to recover some details from the shadows.
The light was very harsh at that time wasn't it ?

Harsh light is pretty much the norm at that location. Even though it was morning (~8 am local) and there was a slight overcast, the light was still fairly strong. That camera has a RAW mode but its very slow to record, so I only tended to use for 'very special' photos.

I understand that you, like myself, we are not of those lucky guys who go to the spot at 5 o'clock in the morning to see and shoot the rising Sun...

I think it was something like 8 Antonio & I used the photomerge panorama tool in Elements 8. I'm thinking of buying the upgrade to Elements 9, do you know anything about how good it is, compared to E 8?
    Cheers.........Edwin Harvey.
