This is an open-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). We request that there be just one entry per person. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 3 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

    Good luck!

Note: Please do not request comment/critique as it could be unfair to other entrants, but feel free to start a thread with the same image in one of the two image commentary forums.

We went for a bar-b-que to a metropolitan park on a holiday. The day was very cloudy and it drizzled at times. I saw a father and daughter pair flying kite. The kite nearly touched the low flying clouds. - By Kingshuk

    Moving Train

I thought it would be great to capture the sense of a moving train while someone waited on the platform. I was lucky enough to even catch the station name through the train window. :-)

My word! How do we vote for this one - they are all exceptional. Any one of them would have won if separate. So great to see this quality coming through! Glad I didn't post!!!

You could just vote for them all - if you like them all. That was the idea behind these Mini Comps when they were first set-up - If you like it vote for it. That's why it was made Multiple Choice.

It was never about winning. It was always about giving a message of support and encouragement to those who may not feel confident enough to enter the Monthly Challenge with their outstanding picture of the month.

So, we could have a 10-way tie. Never had one of those before.

    Re: Thank you.

This was an exceptional Mini Comp and no mistake.

    Hi Erika,

I couldn't help feeling that one picture deserved a better chance, but inadvertently you landed in the middle of some exceptional images.

    Mini Competition #190

Here's a crop, adjustment of exposure, contrast and sharpen that may have helped it.

The crop puts the main elements of the image much closer to the thirds and the diagonal lead-in line helps too. I felt the hair was a distraction, as was the right arm, a case of less is more hopefully applies.

It was also lacking contrast and quite under exposed, so I fixed that, followed by a sharpen, but to be honest, on such a small jpg, that has possibly introduced more artefacts.

I hope you find this useful,
