    Ufo

    Made you look!

This is the UnFinished Object kind of UFO, i.e. a knitting project I started six years ago and did not complete because I got distracted by a hundred other pretty things. Some projects just look better on the needles anyway. What do you think? I had some fun with curves. (Click to view as they look best against black and should be viewed separately from one another.)

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

You're one clever lady to come up with that intriguing title. Just kidding.

I like the first one. The color looks more natural to me. It definitely is a nice subject of photography, more like an abstract art.

Thank you, Jiro. I thought they looked kind of painterly, myself. It sure was fun playing with the colours.

    Abstract art, you say?

    Ufo

Hand-dyed roving (Australian Polwarth, for the sheep-lovers in the crowd).

I really like the first one, Janis! It's really gorgeous. I want to sink my hands into it and the colors do a person good.

Do you blog, maybe? There is a serious contingent of knitters (especially in the UK) who have taken their skill with their needles to a super art - there's some really gorgeous stuff and gorgeous photos of it all, too. I'm going to go rummage around and see if I can come up with a link or two - it's so fun!

okay! Here is one - I have NO idea what the men will think (you really might not want to look guys) but I love it!

This one is cheery photography but she's really a crochet guru - you're a knitter - it's fun, though.

Thanks for the links, Katy. Truth be told, the knitting was the thing that gave me the final push to pick up photography again, as I give most of it away and I wanted a kind of portfolio to give me some sense of accomplishment. When I saw on the online knitting forums how much better my photographs could be, I started to learn the editing functions on my little Powershot, and I was hooked.
