Flame Lily
The national flower of what was known as Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). It's taken me a while to get this one to flower.

Re: Flame Lily
I wonder why it's called flame !!!
Mark - Very good capture on the flower head.
A couple of background things you might want to think about (or not!): - There's a bit of something just creeping into frame at the very top, about a third of the way in from the left. And, secondly, that bit of stem (I think that's what it is) coming down at a 45 degree angle towards the top right. Both could maybe be cloned out.

Re: Flame Lily
The lighting and colors are wonderful! It's so vibrant! Donald mentioned the tiny bit of stem at the top - that's all that I see, too.

Re: Flame Lily
You're absolutely right Donald. After about 40 shots I only had one with a high enough f stop to ensure decent dof. I forgot about getting rid of all the background clutter. It does stick out like the proverbial dogs bollocks. I'll clone it out next time I'm on the PC.

Re: Flame Lily
Nicely done, rich color, perfect focus....my eyes just keep surfing the wavy edges of the flower

Re: Flame Lily - 2nd edition
Cloned out guff as suggested above. I have to agree it looks a lot tidier.
