There's still a chance, go for the plastic surgery
No way! Forget trying to save the looks. Go for the new lens
Nice! I have a 420EX that I want to upgrade. The 580EX is on my list.
Moody, dark. I like it, Don.
Looks like you are hand holding and shooting up from lower camera right. Just bear light was it?
Thanks, guys.
I had a Lightsphere on the unit, but without the dome in place. Hand-holding. Manual at 1/32. Camera on tripod with 10sec delay.
Nice! No wonder you've been silent lately... you're practicing a lot!Nice work, Donald.
Willie
Thanks. Yes, I'm devouring Syl Arena's book. I've had it for 3 days now, I think. Think I've been through all of it and have been over key 'beginner' chapters several times. I think it's beginning to sink in. I now have a vocabulary that I didn't have just a few days ago. All I've got to now is put it into practice. I love learning, when it's something I'm enthusiastic about.

I empathise with that qualification!I love learning, when it's something I'm enthusiastic about.
Very handsome subject! Has he thought about a career in fashion modelling![]()
You crack me up
Macbeth??
Sean Connery?
Donald, your posted image reminded me of this guy. There seems to be some similarity. Don't you think?![]()
Don't fight your deepest emotions. Just go with it!!
Willie - To get that Gene Hackman look, I might just have to invest in more lighting.
Suzanne - never thought of the MacBeth idea. Birnam Wood is just about 20 minutes up the road from me, I could go there and reproduce this one. Now, if only I could act!
Then I could be SHHHean Connery!
Yep. Gene Hackman - The French Connection. You just ned the 'Popeye' Doyle hat to finish it off.
Maybe Donald is starting a new thread - Self Portraits?
I think you look very distinguished Donald. I can see you as captain of a sailing ship a la Hornblower or The Oneiden Line.

I'm far too modest to comment. But ....... yes, I know what you mean!
Anyway, to be serious.
I was dreaming (yes, don't laugh. This is really getting a grip of me) of the discussion Rob initiated here about the work of Andrzej Dragan.
So, I thought I'd give it a go.
Still a lot to do on refining techniques.
