    Hi Antonio,
My experience says I am always on one of the shelves,on the lower I believe,of course as a joke!
The question is where is photographer's wife.I know but I don't tell.

Sorry people but the mails were in the Spam basket (?!!...) I have been there as usual to erase them and I saw the mails from Cambridge then.

Yes Dave. You are the winner ! That's me all right.
And no David those are not shoes. It could be but they are not.
This is inside the restaurant and those are bottles of wine.
At the center and behind those two young men - one is my son (with an O) and the other my son in law - there is a scaled sailing boat.
I had a photo without people but it is too late because I erased it and I have no way to recover any more.
    Thank you for the comment.

    Luca looks a nice fellow.
    Hello Peter
The little light spot on his eyes are excellent.
But isn't the image a little bit soft ? Wouldn't it benefit from a more contrast ?

Thank you for keeping this thread alive.

    Hi Antonio,

The softness and low contrast are deliberate for my monochrome images as I like this style and more importantly so do Maya and Luca's parents

Mother and daughter (also my wife). Quite a moving session this as Pauline's mother has early signs of Alzheimer Disease and is becoming increasingly dependant on her.

I took some time to understand that as I said in the SCP.

It's a style all right and you just have to keep doing it over and over to refine it.

I can say that you suceed because I had seen such an option often...

I am sorry to read this.

People these days - sometimes - live very long. May be too long without the convenient and necessary quality. This is neither good for children nor for themselves. Everybody suffers.

I know perfectly well what you mean...
If you know what I mean ...

What will it happen to ourselves in a couple of years ?

Let's take advantage of life while we are here and healthy.
That's why I always wish one thing for people, Christmas time or not: Health, the same I wish to my family and to myself.

I do indeed know what you mean and agree with your thoughts. Both my parents died many years ago before reaching 70. I miss them now and wish I could talk to them.

    On a brighter note, here's another very NON square image to keep the thread alive;

    It's your son of course...
Trying to climb a wall. But Dave what is it with the focus ? Or am I having difficulties with my sight ?
Was it with a stong "little bird lens" as my wife calls the long teles ?

    Hi William,

Great shot of Krysten, which obviously took a fair bit of organisation to achieve.

Did you fill the darker areas with flash or reflectors I wonder?

    For me, three things I'd do to make this into a seriously good image;
    a) The sky darkening (which I like) looks a little under done in top right corner
    b) Clone away the foot/heel prints in sand to heighten the air of mystery - "how did she get there?"
    c) It might stand a touch more sharpening on Krysten herself

I like the composition, the expanse of blank sand behind her direction of travel adds to the "how did she get there?" factor, which outweighs the normal 'rule' of having more space in front of the subject so they are proceeding 'into' the frame.

    Hope that helps,

Was expecting this to be a good shot, but lots of noise in it

    Hello Krysten !
I agree with what Dave said.
I would add another little thing: make a little - just a tad - and very little correction to the horizon as it looks a little curved, with the Lens Correction tool from CS4.
I think the use of this tool will not be noticeable on our young lady.
    Keep posting my friend
