    Thank you Nicola
If a candid shot is "Candid photography is best described as un-posed and unplanned, immediate and unobtrusive." like stated in the Wikipedia no, it is not.
Nuno was posing for me. He is one of the small group of photographers who meet every week.
He has been in the hospital for 2 month now. He had his foot half cut as a consequence of a work accident.
The only light available was the window, no additional reflective surfaces at all.
And I thing it is not as good as I wanted. His face is rather over exposed and I can't get any detail from even shooting raw.
Perhaps, I should have used spot mettering on his face on Manual mode and I used the Average mode (matrix) with Aperture priority.
The DOF ? Oh my friend Nicola. The DOF is cooked with Lens blur and masks.
It was there already yes, but not this strong... I decided to enhance it just a tiny little bit.
    Thank you Nicola

I'm really so sorry for the accident of Nuno... I think that safety on work places is one of the most important matter on the developped world. it is terrible that one can compromise his life for an accident occurred when (and where) his life has been spent, 'cause everyone spent most of his life working... we have always to learn a lot about safety, and we have to fight to keep the safety always in mind and in "pole position" respect to all the other values, as praticality and profitability of work.
and persons like Nuno can teach to everyone else a lot about this matter...
I would say too much about it, but I have not enough time at the moment, and perhaps it is not the best place and the best time for it... and for sure my poor english doesn't help me at all..

About the picture, as usual, you are right, watching again, I see the over-exposed areas... but i think a photo full of mistakes that can make cry or smile the observer is much more good than a technically perfect one but that doesn't create any feeling in the watcher. your picture is a good one (even if not perfect, as you mentioned) but make me feel on that chair watching out the window, desiring the lost freedom..

thanks for yours explaination, it teached me much.

PS when (if ever) I will reach you photografic skill Antonio, I will present my kit...

    I wanna kill this background!

I hate this background but I had to shoot this in class and this is what we had. I couldn't get those wrinkles out. I love her eyes though. She looks so strong.

Thank you Yvonne for posting here once again
Lovely picture. She looks concentrated on the "action" of eating her ice cream
It is not a strong image but it does have it's charm...
You used a slight vignetting to enhance her which contributes to the success of the picture
    Well done !

Hello Shane ! Thank you for posting here again
I have been practicing my skills on selection of areas following this video, over and over.
Looking at her hair, it looks like you have been making some masks ... have you ?
Allow me to sugest one little thing: in the original image do not select her but the background instead. Well, I know it is pretty obvious but it happens to everyone not to see it, the obvious. (At least it happens to me sometimes )
Please try and show us what you came up to
I am sure you will overcome your problem

Thank you Ashwin for your interpretation of the photo.

Your blur is very strong and so, not very natural... I like best the one in the middle
However, I always thought you would do something more ... how shall I say ??? in accordance with your culture.
I hope I made myself understand....

    My dear friend Antonio,
I want to highlight his injury,
and that portion which was little unsharp in your original picture, I made it more sharp,
his mood you have very well captured... But to emphasize more on his injury, I have made it little more blurred and somewhat faded, now this is my interpretion of his injury

    Antonio,
What I usually do is fix up the photo to my liking, for example, color correction, eyes, and so forth. Then I duplicate the layer and use curves to to darken the photo, then add a layer mask and erase the face.

Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm sure it will help! Thanks everyone.
