Helo Sahil. Thank you for posting

One question: what would you like to show us ?
The guy with the ballons ?
Don't you think he could be facing us ?
I am sure you can see that the flash is very strong in the foreground and lost in the distance... Try to correct this taking some pictures and selecting the best among them.

However, and in spite of the noise, the image has some potential if with another "treatment".
The red ballons are an important element in the picture.

Then when he gets to my age, he wishes to be a handy man again! It must be the paperwork

I guess I am still experimenting. I kinda feel shy to ask someone to let me click their picture. As for the flash, it was pretty dark there, so it had to be there. I don't have a tripod. . I was on my way to my car and don't know for what I looked back and I saw him and a nice sky. Put my camera on auto and clicked it. Some lovey-dovey people have been in a mood of V-Day, so the heart shaped balloons to show the V-day enthusiasm (marketing).
I don't know how to correct the flash thing

Thanks for the critics, Antonio. I will keep these points in mind.

This is my wife's cousin. A beautiful young lady that hates having her photo taken, unless it is with a stupid pose! I managed to sneak this candid snap of her at dinner on Friday. I wish she would sit properly for some shots.

The beautiful young lady has in fact a less flattering posture/pose but as this is just a candid it is OK.

Very nice portrait, Jacsul! The only problem I see is that is overall too dark, so you lost a lot of detail on her coat. It will benefit a lot from a little bit of increased digital fill light. I am sure Colin would have told you that if he was awake right now

Hmm, I think you're right, I'll have to play with it a bit.
    Thanks for the tip.
Enjoying the weather? We're under a state of emergency with the snow. I'll be posting those photos tomarrow.

Agree on exposure. Also, I think the focus may be on her lapel, not on her eyes - but I could be wrong. I'm always doing that when I shoot people. The Canon 50D is good as it tells you where the focus points have hit. Nice face on the model.

Thank you Jacsul for posting again in this thread.
And thank you to the others for the contribution

I do agree with both regarding the fill light and the focus.

Weather is not that bad over here. Unlike the usual pattern, this past month all the snow came from south, so Boston, specially north of the city was spared! Enjoy the white powder

    Sahil good day to you.
I have to ask you to be kind enough to remove your picture from this thread because here it is only for portraits...
In fact, this so successful thread is named under nSCP's which is the meaning for NON Square Cropped Portraits
I am sorry. Your image looks great but doesn't belong here.
You wanted to post your picture in another thread you were reading at the same time as seeing this one and post it here by mistake.
It does happen to us all.
We are all Humans aren't we ?
    Thank you

And come back for a nSCP whenever you wish. You are most welcome

This time it's more serious. Oh yes, hasn't it always been ?
I am going to expose in Lisbon next month with some others under the theme "Work".
The exposition will be held from the first May to some fifteen days I suppose.
This time I would like to read some opinions of you people on these two shots. They are some time old but it doesn't matter, as they as good for the purpose.
I took quite some time editing them. May be two days. I worked on CS4 and a little bit on LR at the end.
The images are to be hanged side by side and the first one here is the one I want to be on the left side.

    Antonio,

Both interesting images, and I always like shots of people doing something that is meaningful to them as it gives the shots some context, and I think it affects their expression when doing something they enjoy. I find with the first shot that her hand looks rather large (probably due to the angle and closeness of the camera), and the garment she is sewing is very bright. My eye is therefore drawn too much to the lower half of the image. For that reason, I think the second shot is better.
