What doesn't please me that much is the red area at the top right and left.

I do know you agree with me. Perhaps the new command from CS5 can fix it quickly.

    Content Aware Fill in CS5

I forgot: Thank you Alis for posting another great image

You are right about the right upper part. It is a trash can. I think I will have to remember this when I print the picture.

I have had mixed results with the content aware function in PS CS5 though. Sometimes great, sometimes not so good. Definitely, not even close to the famous white horse and green grass example of the guy from Adobe

You are right Alis. But try not all the area at once once but lowly, in small parts.

It works better and gives better results. Sometimes Or, more often

The examples are always the best one could do ...

    Fresh fish

Today I was with someone else to make this portrait at the local market place.
I am not totally happy with it. I have to come back and try a better one.
I don't like the light spot on top, neither the spot on the flag (in spite of not having control on it except to go later/earlier), I don't like the lighting on his face either.
Specular light ? Oh yes, but he is working and it's hot.

Another problem to solve: Different white balances. Easy solution: switch off that light ! and get the second flash to his back. Must go and try again.

    Raisin seller

This is another one from today. Perhaps not as bad as the man selling fish, but not very good either.
Her face should have light and it doesn't. Her right eye is in rather dark shadow.
The focus point is OK and so is the shallow DoF.
Colored portrait to repeat with a more bold technique I have already in mind.

Very nice shot, Antonio! One more thing I can add is that the space on his left is too much. The picture actually begs for more on the right, considering that he is almost facing the right side of the picture.

The eternal dilemma Antionio! The face or the grape...which one should be in focus? Here it is difficult to increase the depth of field of course, but I would say both!

Nice shot! I like the expression on her face and also the warm tone

Too late my friend. Too late.
I agree but I couldn't see it as I was cropping. I work in LR for the crop and then I go to Photoshop. Then I save to tiff not to lose information but the crop is done.
Perhaps this is not the right procedure as we can see here... uuummm Have to think it over and change the process.
Indeed... if I had not done the crop I would be able to ... re-crop. Mess. OK But that's it: work on the image and then at the end, crop and unsharp.
    Thank you Alis
I have been working on this photo for a moment now and I am trying to erase the light - which I succeed so far, and I am repairing the roof at this moment.

I want to give them - the sellers - one printed photo and I want them to be happy.
More people will ask me to shoot them
See, the happiness of the others is my own

I sincerely have rather the woman in focus and the grape not.
And I mean this not because I have done it but I really feel so

Thank you Alis for the trouble of writing this text
I wish there were more people to participate.

Oh, BTW I shot 6 photos of her and 12 of him. Got one shot from each. Good, enough. I am happy with this success rate. the others were blurred because the silly Antonio trusts too much on the Aperture priority and forgets - yes forgets - to look at the speed.

    That is well done Ali
Perhaps the curtains of the window are a bit too overexposed but that is - probably - my monitor.
Anyway you do have all over a magnificent balance of lights, natural and flash ones.
Still the Gary Phong Tupperware ?
Pretty good the results you get with the insistent practice

I offered this morning the images to the people in the market. They were happy. I told them I would be back for a second session. I hope then to be able to overcome certain White Balance problems with the use of the gray card. I am waiting for lesson number 4.

I missed this one! It is a great shot, Antonio! Specially the background...

What is the name of the animal/pet?

    Thanks, Antonio!

The guy that is looking into the lens ruined it But this is progress for me: I am shooting something other than my son for a change

This is the area in the daycare where they play and do stuff. I stay out of this area, hide behind a little wall and take pictures, because if my son sees me (I usually go there to pick him up at the end of the day) he will leave everything he is doing and come toward me and you know what happens if he gets close with that 70-200mm lens, I won't be able to focus below 1.4m but he doesn't know that

Anyway, the curtain is as you said overexposed, but since I can not use flash here, I have to rely on whatever lighting the room has and with this back lit position I had to expose for the foreground and then used the fill flash in PP to get the detail out, hence all the noise in there. So, no, no Tupperware used here

Thank you Ali for the explanation.
I really don't think the young fellow is spoiling the picture. He is OK. I like him looking at us.

Antonio, how could they not be pleased with these photos? They are very natural and flattering to both vendors. The Cambodia pictures are also amazing!

I am not that pleased Je, moi, eu, ich
I told him - when I was delivering the photo - that I would come back to repeat the scene.
You imagine me and two other guys in the middle of the market shooting him, one holding an umbrella and the other a reflector

Yesterday evening a friend of mines told me something he doesn't like and I agree with him in spite of the difficulty to overcome the problem: the man has the background with lines and areas that cut his head.
Very hard to avoid this. Very hard. He is moving all the time as I give him instructions: do this, do that, touch the fish etc.
I don't do so he is not natural...
