Yes I know it is not perfect at the top left. I know. It was just a quick work. You can make it better if you wish starting all over from your raw file.

    No, Antonio! Too much light.

I would actually use the extra pixels in the picture to correct the lens distortion and then crop it exactly as you did to include the whole shadow and as much as possible from the sky.

But in general, usually with these shots, the exposure should and can easily be set for the background to get the detail in the sky. Not sure if the clouds got lost during the post processing or it was blown out in the camera. If this is a raw capture, it may be possible to decrease the exposure on the sky to get the details of the clouds back.

    Hello Nicola
First I opened the photo in Photoshop. Then I added a new transparent layer. Then I painted it all black. (yes, black ! )
Then there was no image at all
I changed the Opacity to Overlay and miracle: I could see the photo again as if nothing was on it.
Then I went to Filter / Render / Lens flare and I choose the light which was the best, or looked like the best to me and adjusting more or less in the final position.
Oh boy I am having a colored image. I don't want that.
OK No prob. Convert to black and white.
Bang. There it is in black and white.
Then with V key I fine tuned the spot to where I really wanted.
    Export to jpg etc etc

Not the perfect way. Not probably the best blending mode but... so what ? It works, right ?

I forgot to say that at the beginning I cloned the tree.

Good. But the light from the back is too strong. And so is the sepia tone for my taste.
More subtle would be better I think.

And yes it would be far better if we could see or guess what the guy is doing.
    Yes I said guess indeed.
Perhaps the crop is not the best.
Let me see what I can do about it.
    Just a minute please
    ...
    Sorry keep you waiting
It took a bit longer. Here it is. Do you like it ?
Severe crop, vibrance, vignetting, cloning and sharpening. Free of charge
Yes it is free of charge and has very poor quality indeed. Sorry. Many artifacts or whatever it is. Poor treatment. Well but the essencial, the idea, the basis are here Your turn now to show me what you can do with similar work.

No Ali. It is good like I did.
I was not looking here for a perfect shot but for something strong taking advantage of the blown up (too white) sky.
The Sun on the bright area ahead is the future on that path towards the left. No political connotations here.
So strong it (the future) is that it makes us blind.

    Re: help!

Alis, thank you for your opinion!
it comes from .raw capture, but the sky is completely blown away. there was no clouds, and the sun is the noon one: so the scene was too much contrasty for every camera. In my opinion, exposing for the background makes the foreground too dark, and however I tried to catch the blinding light of the moment. after a ceremony in a (quite dark) curch, the two radiant newlyweds went out walking seaside during a so bright day...

What do you want the C1 and C2 positions for Nicola ? Read here please.

This is the solution of low light in a moment (C1) and bright light the next one (C2). Right ?

I'm not a teacher. I am an addicted. Read here what I also did/do just for the sake of curiosity.

I'm not so skilled user of the machine, it's my first SLR, and I have it since half october...
I suppose I can add the "highlight tone priority mode", and the way is descendant..

I don't think it is the best way but...
I have an "old" 5D and I set C1 for indoors (ISO, Manual mode, and so forth)
You don't have one custom mode, you have two like in the Canon G9 (which I also own) for example.
You erased the raw: never do that and you can see now why you shouldn't do so

Keep coming to this forum. People is helpful and you can grow in photography.
