I think your shot is OK, Bleys. Even if the background is almost the same color as her hair, I can still distinguish her outline so it's fine. What I would probably suggest is to clone out the white area on top. Also, a little sharpening on her wouldn't hurt. Just on her and leave the background as is. Something like this:

Hi again Bleys,
Where you been? oh hang on, I can see now - you were 'distracted'![]()
I agree with Willie, the colour match doesn't matter due to the DoF separating them.
In addition to the adjustments already suggested/demonstrated, I think I would try to rescue some more detail from the right side of her face. It is also (IMHO) a shame there is such a brightly lit wisp of hair across the eye, obliterating the pupil. - In those conditions, shooting several shots in a burst would have paid off, probably allowing selection of an almost identical one (but without quite so much of that 'hair wisp' issue) - but hindsight is wonderful, isn't it?
Welcome back,
thanks for the input!
edit: actually that's a good idea. next time I'll throw it on continuous in case something like this happens again. I thought her pupil was just unusually constricted! =P
