thoughtful
months ago I found this cat,
(it's not surprising) I was going to bring him to my home..!
the way he was watching me was disquieting...
do you like? (I mean the cat and the shot) what about my choice of DOF?
eos 50D + ef 50mm , s:1/320 - f:1.8 ISO1600
thanks!
bye

Personally, I think it's the crop that isn't quite working here. The cat's face is nice and sharp, but the eye needs to be closer to the upper right power point. I would try a re-crop and see what happens. It's a great capture, and nicely focused on the eyes, but it's not quite what it should be... yet.

A better position for the cat now, but now I can see why you made the original crop as you did. The dark ledge in the foreground is a distraction, and not quite level ( the leveling is also noticable on the background ledge now, as well). I would level the image and try to clone out the dark ledge on the stair. While you're at it, you might as well get rid of the dark ledge in the background, too. On the other hand, the edge of the stair in front of the cat does give the viewer some sense of where the cat is looking (and not just lost in making dark, insidious plans for global domination). This is a step in the right direction, just needs a bit more work... keep going, I like the cat's intensity, and now that he has a place to look into, it's even better.
