    Hi Jiro,

I like the lighting and colors. Nice Idea!
My only quibble would be that the dart board looks to be on a table and not the wall.

Thanks, Steve. I can't hang it on the wall, yet... all my joints are painful due to arthritis. This shot was lighted using an LED flashlight. During the 4 seconds exposure, I swirled the light to where I want it to be hence the selective light and dark areas. Thanks for viewing.

Ouch, sorry to hear that Jiro.

    Q. OK what are the 'give-aways' in the shot?

    A. We can see the edge of the table, and the grain of the wood is "horizontal" in relation to the vertical axis of the board.

Try a reshoot with the dart board (and you) 90 degrees (in relation to table top) from where you were when you shot this. That way, the wood grain should align with the vertical axis (20 at top dead centre) just as it would normally architecturally.

If you cannot reposition to get more table top, visible, clone-extend it in PP so it looks like a panel and has no edge.

    Just ideas
    and I may be wrong

    Cheers,

Re: Memory of the winning game...

Hello, Dave. What you saw was not the edge of the table. I have a special dart cabinet for my dartboard. That's why after 3 years of abuse it still looks OK. That's the top panel of the cabinet shown.

I tried taking some shots with the dart cabinet standing on the kitchen table. The problem is... I can't hold the camera well due to my problematic shoulder. In the end, I opted to rest the cabinet flat on the table. I didn't like the way the table lamp is lighting the scene, I don't see any drama in it. So, what I did, I took out my LED torchlight, put a 6" long cardboard and make a snoot in front of it. I then selectively swirled it on the board to light up the parts that I want. Another experiment for me on lighting technique for the less fortunate... without strobes.

The portrait mode looks great, it is amazing what a simple change from landscape to portrait can do. The dart board looks like it is now hanging on a wall. Wonderful picture.

When I was using the table lamps, No I don't. When I used the LED torchlights, since I need about 4 seconds to light up the areas that I want, I had to put the camera on my old tripod. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks. I was thinking you had some pretty steady hands.

You have a way of seeing beauty even on the most simple things, Willie. I also have a dartboard set just lying around and I didnt know it makes a good photo subject. Ang galing naman, kabayan.
