Great capture, Thierry. #2 for me.
Hi Thierry,
Well, you haven't lost your touch over the winter
The captures have the hallmark of you narrow DoF, but accurately focussed.
If I have one criticism, it is the difference in colour temperature between the first two shots.
I'm having TinyPic viewing issues and cannot see the monochromes in the post with 4 additional images
Best regards,
Hah, no - it is a known problem that afflicts _some_ UK based members only - it causes random TinyPic hosted images not to display - it is independent of browser (same on all 5 I have), there is now correlation to computer OS or ISP either.
Tonight, for example; the original B&W is all I can see - not even the new one within your reply is visible (although it might appear when I post this
There's a separate thread on it, so let's not digress further here
Cheers,
Thierry
I agree with the views already expressed about your continuing skill in making these type of images. They really are masterful captures.
My preference is for this image also. When trying to analyse why, I conclude that this is because this image shows more 'energy' and effort. I am sure this is because of the timing, as it shows the horse and rider in the early phase of jumping.
In the other images the action of the jump is further progressed and both horse and rider look much more graceful and, almost, serene as they glide over the jump.
Thanks for your comment Donald.
Such picture depends of many parameters. the photographer of course but also the rider and the horse. A good jump eases photographer task.
What I like doing such picture is too try to express the tricky mixture between grace as you mention , dynamic and power.
Thanks for your appreciation of my photographic hobby

Lovely Thierry
I really like the colour versions over the BW conversions though with this subject.
I look forward to learning more from your work - our competitions resume later this month, so I will have the opportunity then to practice.
Very nice shots Thierry. Well done.
