The road

I thought I would share the road which brought me back to my photography intrest. I am posting documentary type photos of my indoor hobby..."Vintage and Antique marble collecting" Yes I have lost my marbles. lol
Photographing these little colorfull glass orbs can be trickier than one might think. The identification and such require spot on color and hue. All of my marble shots are done with a small point & shoot as I did not yet have my DSLR, and still do not have my macro lens. These are just a few of the near 8000 in my collection. I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks guys, it is fun trying to capture the intricate flow and feel of glass. These marbles are from between 1915 - 1950's and are only a sample of a few of the machine made marble companies during this time period. When I return from work I may post a few of my handmade marbles from around 1850-1920.

Here are a few of the Handmade 1850 - 1920 most are considered to be German made but some may have come from surrounding countries, there is very little documentation to go on.

This brings so many memories back. I had a collection of marbles as a kid and just loved them, mostly for the beauty of the colours and not because I was any good at playing. I was always careful to put my least favourite up when playing, in case I lost them. Great bit of nostalgia.
