Mel
Don't understand the connection between the image and the title. But I do like the image.
Its like this, Donald. In Manila, these people in turbans are loan sharks taking advantage of those who have no access to bank loans due to the unavailability of collaterals. The "5-6" means that if I get $5.00 loan, I have to pay $6.00 in 30 days. That is 20% interest per month. Roadkill in some parts of the country...
Oh wow. Somebody will be on my tail again....
I thought he is of sikh religion..
Hi Sahil. I am not that familiar with the Sikh Religion but I gues he is. There is a Sikh church in downtown Manila and most of the people there wear turbans just like the person in the picture.
Hi Katy. Just putting in some fun and humor on my post.
I think we need to be clear that Mel is expressing a view about a group of people who exploit others by preying on their vulnerability and what he writes is not something that should be considered as applying to Sikhism in general.
Indeed, it strikes me that the wider community of Sikhs would be shocked and disgusted to think that a few of their number in one community have adopted behaviours and practices that are quite at odds with the principles of their religion (as I understand it).
