Tithecote Manor - Hurley
I shot this image of a wonderful old English manor house through the lychgate. Unfortunately the light was bad, not helped by the position of the sun, just to the left of the building.
The original was dull, flat and uninteresting, so in addition to Photoshop I applied a light HDR edit in Photomatix and a small amount of detail enhancement in Topaz Adjust. It is still not as punchy as I would have liked. Has anybody any suggestions?

I would suggest re tweaking the levels to bring the contrast up some. This edit would give the dark woodwork on the building more weight in the picture. I would also try to try some burning on the lawn and perhaps the trees and bushes near the edges.

But watch that sky. I'm viewing on a slightly basic monitor and it appears to be just beginning to over expose at the moment.
