Re: this weeks practice photos
Well for me, the fist two work fine, particularly the second.
Those ducks look a bit 'lost' compared with the rest of the scene. I would like to have seen them closer to the top which would probably have enabled cropping to a 'landscape' ratio. But such is life.
The swan just isn't sharp enough which is a pity because it could have made a good photo.

Re: this weeks practice photos
I shot the swam with my 200-500 tamron lens at the 500 setting. It was on a good manfotto tripod. Any suggestiions on getting better focus with it.
I do not know the f on the second photo. My copy of cs5 just ran out and i cant restart it. I had a trial copy.

The swan scene requires focusing on the swan then recomposing the view without losing focus. Which can be difficult as it is moving. Your lens appears to have tried to focus on the water in the middle area; and reflected subjects make poor auto focus targets.
Manual focus would probably have worked better, but it still wouldn't be easy.
