Just after Takeoff
This was very much a grab shot, although I managed to pick up the swan early in its flight to get five rapid exposures. I specifically went out to get some practice with my EF 70-300 mm IS USM lens, which I have had for about six years and never really got on with and since acquiring a EFS 18-200 mm IS I now hardly use at all.
Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

For a grab shot, it's beauty. A large bird like this in flight is a beautiful thing and you've nailed that well. It's a lovely scene.
Clearly, you've thrown the background out of focus as much as you could. But that is the where the image maybe could have been stronger. With a larger aperture, giving more blur to the background, even more attention would have been thrown onto the swan.

great shot, i especially like how the opposite wing turned out. with the light showing through the feathers.
I'm kind of new to this so if this is a bit off base sorry. but i think that adding a little motion blur to the background could give the image more of a motion feel.
