Thread: Ooh-eh-Sis

    Ooh-eh-Sis

There comes a time in the development of every Northern lad when he starts the metamorphosis into Noel Gallagher. To start with it is an innocent request for an electric guitar for Christmas - then the gallant resistance to all things haircuttery - before you can say Toy Story its a champagne supernova in the sky and life is cigarettes and alcohol for the rock and roll star.

Those are wonderful, Steve. I love the expression in #3 and the reflection in #4. The face looks a little distorted in the second-to-last one, but maybe because of that, it's captures a certain mood that seems befitting. I also quite like colour, the shadow and the "one-eyed-jack" look of the last one. Great collection.

#3 and the last one for me, Steve. Uber-cool shots. I should think he can afford a Stratocaster with the extra allowance you must be giving him.

#3 #4 and the last one really grab me as the pick of the bunch..
now with that guitar maybe we need instead of a internet speed test - you and I can do a decibel level test electric g-tar vs Drums!

Groovy pix Steve! I love number 3! The expression and angle are perfect, and I like the B/W over the sepia tone of the others. Good stuff!

    Re: Ooh-eh-Sis

Thank you all for the positive comments. This is the first session I have done for about 3 weeks. All the shots were PP'ed with a Lomo plugin for gimp. Its a very handy and adaptable bit of software. The finishing was simply curve manipulation and b/w conversions applied after the Lomo stuff. The only issue I have found is that you need to underexpose slightly at source since the lomo effects are not sympathetic to excessive light areas. The shots above were quite nicely exposed but you can see the issues I was having.

Many thanks for the comments Kathy, Sahil, Jiro and Richard. To be honest i thought I had lost it. No shooting for 3 weeks and I had a total block on anything remotely creative. The comments on this thread are very encouraging. I made WireVixen a mouse mat out of the last one.....kitsch I know but I am just that kinda guy

And this is the begining of something wonderful, I am dertermined that my baby brother will be a indie rock star when he is older; he has it in his bones and with the help of me to guide him he will surely succeed. I can't wait till he is old enough to come to gigs with me, he will love it. I have 4 in just one month. One day you will find him caught beneath the landslide of a champange supernova in the sky.
