Nice shots for first go. It's hard to get a good shot at a zoo as the glass and fences are usually problematic. You got some pretty clear shots. The big cats have never cooperated with me for decent shots. They are sleeping or concealed in bushes whenever I try to get a shot.

Bootsy,
#1 is pretty good. It can be hard to catch a tiger moving at the zoo! I would like to have a little more light on the face, but there really isn't any control over this at the zool, is there?
#2 is really good.
#3 is ok, though I don't care for the fence
I'd like to know what lens you were using?
Thanks
my biggest problem was the amount of people there but it was the school half term i think zoo's are design just to look at animals not to take photos of. but i had a good day.it was interesting to have to really work at getting a few shots worth keeping.
Is that with or without IS? I wish I had either version!
The zoo is the one place I make use of a monopod.
Either way it is a nice lens. I'm trying to convince the wife that I need one of those
The non-is is pretty nicely priced and the optics are excellent - or so I have read, I have never used one!
its the best lens i've used as a long zoom.well its a big improvement over my old sigma 50-200
