Cheers Jiro. I wanted to get an abstract feel to this rather than a conventional arrangement. I perhaps needed to be a little lower to achieve that fully.

Crop both of the flowers on the right side off and the composition improves greatly (you see the curves in the leaves and flowers better). Right now I think the colors are the only things holding the picture together.

I think you may be right Will. The image below is from a post with the same subject some time back. Different processing but the crop is pretty much what you suggest here.

Yes that is much closer to what I was thinking, but I still like the angle of the first one.
