Adjustment Layer In Photoshop
Hello All,
I have seen an image in a magazine that I would try to replicate. I think a layer has been put on top. The image is of a model in monochrome (I think) but looks to have a sort of bronze glow.
Thank you,
best wishes
Graeme

Re: Adjustment Layer In Photoshop
Must be some type of adjustment layers added to the monochrome image. Just my wild guess. You could probably link the image here for viewing purposes. I don't see any harm in doing that.

Re: Adjustment Layer In Photoshop
This sort of effect, if we are talking about the same thing, was popular a couple of years ago and the best examples needed quite a bit more specialised editing (and special lighting during shooting) than Willie's suggestion, which is the straight forward easy to achieve method.
If nobody else comes forward, I will see if I can find any reference to this process in my 'may be useful one day' files. But it isn't a technique which I personally used.

Re: Adjustment Layer In Photoshop
I have looked through my old how to do this files but can't find the piece about adding the bronze glow. It was several years ago and on another forum.
I seem to remember something about adding selective local contrast and saturation as part of the suggestions.
Another article also mentions converting to monochrome using the channel Mixer method, producing a slightly 'over bright' image then duplicating that layer with a Multiply blend mode and adjusting the opacity to suit.
But I can't find the reference to the bronzing effect that you require. I suspect that may have been lost during one of my annual tidy ups!
Possibly use a low opacity fill layer as Willy mentioned or other sepia toning method and experiment. Maybe a google for bronze toning on photos might turn up one of the articles.
I definitely remember reading several posts about this subject; but like so much nowadays, I just can't remember where it was. :
ps Is this any help http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com...toning-effect/

You can get a nice glow with a copper gradient . . .
