You may find this useful; HELP THREAD: How can I post images here?
I suspect you omitted the bit where the link should have been pasted back into the post, many do (several each week).
Once you know how, it is easy-peasy.
You can click Edit the first post above,
click Go Advanced
re-upload the image,
paste in the link into the post
and Save changes to make it look like nothing happened.
