ACCEPTING ENTRIES: Monochrome Mini Competition #160

This is a monochrome-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your MONOCHROME/B&W image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). We request that there be just one entry per person, and that any tinted images utilize no more than one color. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 3 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

    Good luck!

Note: Please do not request feedback, or make comments on other images, until after voting has closed as it could be unfair to other entrants.

PS: Make sure to also vote on the previous competition here.

It was a fun shot at my folks retirement center in Gainesville, Fl. Everywhere you go, there are these lovely setups at the end of each hall, and it is doubtful anyone has ever made use of any. I think they become imperfect by the cleaning people as there has never been a time there that I've seen even the slightest hint of dust.

Thanks for the views and votes.

Very nice Chris - well done. I love the diagonal shaft of light - makes the image IMHO.

    Regards,

    Nick.

Chris, it is a fantastic image and deserved the win. I didn't have anything in my photographic armoury to match it.

Another very nice photo Chris! Congrats. I really like the way you captured the shadows and the light. The toning is really nice.

Paul, also a very awesome image. Very interesting and masterfully processed!

Faye... awwww. What a beautiful little boy. Wonderful capture.

Re: Perfect Lighting for an Imperfect Arrangement

You were running up my backsides fast and furious...and it was a good photo so certainly just as worthy of a win.

Oddly enough (or perhaps not) I don't enter these with the idea that I will ever win anything. I do it to see how others perceive (or don't) my intent. Few or no votes doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad photo but it does give me a bit of insight as to other people's opinions. Either or, I find this whole process a good experience and in each competition, I root for the best image to win.

This is, without a doubt, the best forum on the internet for learning, exhibiting and discovering new tricks. Thanks everyone for your continued encouragement...whoohoo, I'm still having a blast.

Re: Perfect Lighting for an Imperfect Arrangement

LOL, yes I agree Chris on you intent when entering. I am the same way. It is fun to just enter and see what is thought. It is helpful to see what others find pleasing. I can then study my photo and see what if I find areas I can improve both technically and artistically. It is nice though when I hit the mark as you did here.
